Avatar 1 is Chinese in Origin:
1. A Chinese dragon is found tattooed on the main Dragon Assault Ship in the 1st movie:
2. A Na'vi (rainforest-dwelling native on Pandora) with long pony tail is just a Chinese person painted blue with late 19th century hairstyle:
3. China renamed a scenic attraction in Zhangjiajie to "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain" after its appearance in the first movie as the floating mountains:
"Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
One of the park's quartz-sandstone pillars, the 1,080-metre (3,540 ft) Southern Sky Column, had been officially renamed "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain" (阿凡达-哈利路亚山, pinyin: Āfándá hālìlùyà shān) in honor of the eponymous film in January 2010. According to park officials, photographs from Zhangjiajie inspired the floating Hallelujah Mountains seen in the film. The film's director and production designers said that they drew inspiration for the floating rocks from mountains from around the world, including those in the Hunan province."

"Towering karst peaks look as if they are floating above the clouds in dreamlike Zhangjiajie, Hunan province."
BTW, even Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is a reknown tourist destination among Westerners:
